PRA-b – Bengal Progressive Retinal Atrophy symptoms
The symptoms of PRA begin to occur in the kitten at the age of 2 months. Generally, the majority of cats become blind at 2 years old. The first signs are a difficulty to move in the dark.
New PRA-b DNA test
Initially, a test had been developed on a first genetic variant. The analysis of many Bengal cat has revealed another mutation that, to date, seems perfectly linked to the PRA-b. This new mutation is tested.
